Our Materials

Aurora Adornment / Material Library

What makes
the piece.

Jewelry begins long before the finished piece. It begins with the choice of material, the surface, the weight, the texture, and the way each element responds to light and movement.

Materials are part of the design language.

At Aurora Adornment, material is never treated as a detail added after the design is finished. The character of a piece depends on the relationship between shape, proportion, surface, texture, weight, and the material used to bring the idea into reality.

Our collections include silver jewelry and designs featuring decorative stones and other visual elements. Each product page should be considered the primary reference for the materials and specifications of that specific piece.

Because natural stones, polished surfaces, oxidized textures, and handcrafted details can vary, small differences in color, texture, reflection, or finish may occur from one piece to another. These variations are part of the visual character of jewelry rather than a guarantee of identical appearance.

01

Sterling Silver

Primary jewelry material

Sterling silver is one of the defining materials across Aurora Adornment. Its cool reflective character works naturally with sculptural forms, symbolic pendants, textured rings, and expressive earrings.

Silver can be polished to emphasize light and clarity, or finished with texture and darker details to create greater depth and contrast.

02

Silver Finishes

Surface / texture

Surface treatment changes the way silver interacts with light. Depending on the design, a piece may feature smoother polished areas, textured surfaces, darker recesses, or intentionally aged visual details.

These variations help define the character of vintage-inspired, gothic, sculptural, minimalist, and contemporary jewelry designs.

03

Decorative Stones

Color / contrast

Selected designs may incorporate decorative stones or colored elements to introduce contrast against silver. Color can shift the visual balance of a piece, bringing focus to a pendant, ring, or earring.

Natural and decorative materials may naturally show differences in tone, inclusions, surface character, and appearance. Refer to each product page for the applicable material description.

04

Chains & Components

Structure / movement

Chains, clasps, posts, hoops, connectors, and other components are selected according to the construction and intended styling of each jewelry piece.

These smaller elements play an important role in comfort, movement, proportion, and the overall visual relationship between the jewelry and the wearer.

Light reveals the surface.

One of the reasons silver works so well with sculptural jewelry is its ability to change visually under different lighting. Smooth planes reflect light clearly, while carved, textured, and recessed areas create shadow.

This contrast is especially important in statement jewelry, where depth and silhouette are as important as the overall shape.

How materials behave

The details you notice over time.

Surface

Polished & reflective

Smooth surfaces catch light and create a cleaner, more contemporary appearance while emphasizing the silhouette of the jewelry.

Texture

Carved & dimensional

Raised and recessed details create visual depth and make sculptural motifs easier to read from different angles.

Color

Silver with contrast

Colored stones and decorative elements can introduce a focused point of contrast while preserving the cool character of the metal.

Character

Made to develop with wear

Jewelry surfaces may change gradually through contact, handling, polishing, storage conditions, and everyday wear.

Care Notes

Keep the material
looking its best.

Keep away from harsh chemicals

Avoid prolonged contact with perfumes, household cleaners, chlorine, and other chemicals that may affect metal surfaces or decorative elements.

Store thoughtfully

Store jewelry in a dry place away from excessive humidity. Keeping pieces separated can also reduce scratching and unwanted contact between surfaces.

Put jewelry on last

When dressing, apply cosmetics, fragrance, lotions, and styling products before putting on jewelry whenever possible.

Clean gently

Use appropriate jewelry-cleaning methods for the specific material and finish. Avoid aggressive abrasives unless the product instructions specifically recommend them.

Remove before strenuous activity

Jewelry can be exposed to impact, sweat, moisture, and friction during exercise, sports, or heavy physical activity. Removing pieces beforehand can help preserve their finish.

Our approach

Material gives the design its voice.

From the cool reflection of silver to the depth created by texture and contrasting details, our materials are chosen to support the personality of each design. We believe jewelry should feel considered from every angle: in the hand, on the body, under light, and through everyday wear.
